Of drama queens, cabbages and kings
It has come to my attention that I supposedly posted "something negative about the Society" on the auction.
I do not recall doing such a thing. Furthermore, Why would I?
This will be my 16th summer at SJ.
In all those years, I have loved working there, learning so much from B, and representing the Society at dozens of paid and unpaid venues. As you know, I work very hard at what I do, and I work a lot of unpaid hours gathering material, researching information, learning new techniques, work prep and our fb page. Wherever I go, when appropriate of course, I tell people about our place and what we do.
I'm rather insulted that "someone" would say such a thing. Why didn't this "someone" talk to me directly about this? At the time it happened?
Instead of this "someone told someone, that someone told someone and that someone told me" junior high school foolishness.
If that "someone" is referring to my conversation with PKP about the item she was bidding on, where I informed her about all the work that went into it. We agreed it was just as much work as a quilt, and told her I was surprised there wasn't a reserve bid on it because there was one on the handmade quilt, then I stand behind that.
"Someone" deleted that thread, with not even so much as an explanation to me. P and I carried our convo privately afterwards. I was surprised/shocked that there wasn't a detailed description of the piece in the auction listing. I did not want to see that piece sold for a low bid, as it would have been unfair to "the Society". . An entirely hand made blanket of local wool, has much more value than a cheap blanket woven overseas and sold at the discount department store, and I felt it was important that bidders were informed of what they were bidding on.
Don't you agree there should be apt descriptions on hand made items in our auctions?
"Someone" didn't do that.
Personally, I feel "someone" got their knickers in a knot, took my comment personally when it was not intended that way and wanted to create drama to feed their bruised ego.
I have been a dedicated and loyal employee, and I will continue to be so as long as long as I continue to work for. Its not in my character to be negative about my employer. "Someone" needs to be told that.
I'm really insulted and I think "someone" owes me an apology.
In addition, if any more of our handmade work from SJ is to be auctioned off, then I'd appreciate being informed so I can give details about the item.
